It expands the practitioner’s ability to transmit spiritual energy beyond physical touch. In other words, it’s a way to offer Reiki without the recipient being in the same room with you. Distance Reiki can be just as effective as experiencing one in person – the Reiki energy “works” regardless of where you are located since it transcends time and physical space.
If you are considering having a Distance Reiki Session, here are a few steps you can take to get the most from your treatment. These guidelines are optional but will help enhance your experience of the treatment.
Scheduling Your Distance Reiki healing Session
Distance Reiki sessions can be scheduled for a time when you are in a calm, relaxed environment and able to focus on the session and your well-being.

The Distance Reiki technique is usually about 30 minutes long, but can continue longer if you like (in this case, please contact me. We will schedule a time and date with you for the distance Reiki session. By setting up a specific time, you can be in a receptive state (such as lying down or meditating during the treatment.
In the booking form, you’ll be asked to provide your name, age, location and any intention you have of what they want the session to support (e.g. a physical or health issue, goal, or challenge). If you wish, you can email me a picture of yours. Having these details will help me connect to you better if we haven’t met before.
How to Prepare for Your Distance Reiki Session
Get yourself ready
You’ll want to be sure you’ve eaten and hydrated a couple of hours before the session—mostly so you will be comfortable and not distracted by hunger or thirst. Avoid eating a heavy meal beforehand, however, as you don’t want all of your body’s energy to be directed toward digesting while you’re receiving your treatment.
It is suggested to refrain from caffeine, sugar or alcohol at least three hours before a session.
You’ll also want to use the restroom before the session so that you can enjoy the full session without being interrupted.
Wear loose and breathable clothes, also make sure you won’t be too cold. If you enjoy baths, I would suggest enjoy a nice warm one before you lie down for your Reiki session, this helps get you into a wonderfully receptive state.
Relax and reflect
Give yourself at least 30 minutes prior to the session to sit and reflect. Check in with how your body is feeling and take note of any emotions, thoughts, or physical sensations you are experiencing.
Take some time to breathe and tend to whatever your body’s needs might be on that given day.
State your intention
Set an intention for your session. Whose presence do you wish to call in? What do you want to heal? What are you ready to release? What are you ready to manifest? This doesn’t have to be an elaborate process. Simply write down the first few things that come to mind.
Or you can use an affirmation such as “I am open to receiving healing energies for my highest good.”
That is all you need to do. Let go of any expectations of specific outcomes, surrender any energy that is no longer serving you and just be open to receiving whatever comes to you. Just trust that whatever you need, is coming to you right now, at the perfect time for you.

If you lay there thinking, “When’s it gonna start?”; “I don’t feel anything?” or, “Is this stuff for real?” Then you are not allowing or in the best frame of mind to relax and enjoy the best experience. Reiki energy is Universal Life Force Energy. It is only positive and can never harm.
It’s OK to wonder what it might be like if you’ve never experienced it before, but it’s impossible to tell you beforehand what and how you will experience your Reiki session.
